How to Remove iCloud from Your Apple Device (Including Dead/Broken Devices)
Step 1. Sign into your iCloud Account (from a computer or another device)
Please ensure the account details match the account hint visible on the device.
You can sign in on www.icloud.com.

Step 2. Once Signed in, select “Find iPhone”
Please note you will need to enter your username and password again.

Step 3. Select your old device from the left panel.
This will display a list of all devices on your iCloud account currently using the Find my iPhone service.

Step 4. Select “Erase This Device”.
Please ensure you do not select any device that you are currently using – the device in question should register as “Offline” and fail to give any location if it has been reset.

Step 5. Select “Next” and continue the steps
Please note that you will need to enter your password again.

Step 6. Please do not enter a recovery phone number or message.
Doing this would maintain a link between your account and the device and result in the device being in a “lost and erased” state.

Step 7: If done correctly, you will see an “Erase Started” message
Please note: the process is not complete yet.

Step 8. Click “Remove from Account”
With the same device selected, click remove from account.

Step 9. Click “Confirm” one final time.

Step 10. Smile – You’re all done and your data and account details should now be secure again :).
If you have any further questions and concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask, we are always happy to be of assistance where possible :).
