Terms and Conditions
1. All devices are booked in and repaired at the client’s own risk. Platinum Repairs is not liable for any data loss or any damage sustained during hardware repairs. Your device may be restored or formatted to complete the repair. Please back up your data beforehand.
2. Parts and services are guaranteed for 360 days in case of original parts and 180 days in case of generic/OEM parts. However, these exclude any damage caused by negligence (e.g. dropped or liquid damage). Our warranties exclude any physical or liquid damage, including where repairs have been done to a waterproof or water-resistant device, as well as any damage caused by the bending of a device after we have completed the repair.
After any repair done to a waterproof or water-resistant device, the device should not be exposed to any liquids, even if all original parts
have been used for the repair. Even the latest “waterproof” phones sometimes leak, so it is best to be careful, even with a brand new device.
The warranty covers factory defects in the parts used and faulty workmanship. Original Apple iPhone and iPad screens have a lifetime warranty. If there is a warranty claim, the device must be delivered to one of our stores, or we can arrange a courier service. The costs of this will need to be covered by the client. Your warranty will be void if the device is opened by anyone other than Platinum Repairs, or if there are signs of physical damage that may have caused the parts to malfunction. The warranty is valid for the current owner of the device and is not transferrable to other persons.
3. We do not cover the balance of the factory warranty if we work on a device. We only cover the parts we replaced.
4. Payment for on-site repairs can be made by EFT, cash deposit or credit/debit card payment.
5. We do not offer credit (other than by prior arrangement) and payment is due before the repair, or as soon as the repair has been completed. The technicians are instructed not to leave without payment. If payment cannot be arranged accordingly, then the repair must be rescheduled for such a time as when payment can be made before the technician leaves the premises.
6. If a repair is carried out and payment is not received as per the above, we will have to institute collection procedures, at the cost of the client, if payment has not been received within 7 working days of the date of the repair.
7. Parts that are not available in stock are subject to a non-refundable 50% deposit when ordering.
8. Devices not collected within 31 days of notification may be sold to cover costs.
9. In case of insurance claims, the excess amount must be paid before the repaired device is released.
10. Platinum Repairs offers an exclusive on-site repair service which saves our clients untold amounts of time. Due to the nature of this service, each technician can only repair a limited number of devices each day. Every appointment is important to us and is scheduled with utmost care to ensure, as far as possible, that our technicians are on time for every client. With limited appointments per technician, per day, it is important that we aim to make each appointment a success.
11. A non-refundable call out fee of R350 shall be charged should the appointment be cancelled by the client less than 8 working hours of the scheduled appointment, or if the client does not arrive as arranged, or is not available as per the arrangements made when scheduling the appointment. This minimal fee is to cover a portion of the lost time and expenses incurred in the case of a failed appointment.
12. By signing this form, you acknowledge and agree that Platinum Repairs may collect and process your personal information for the purposes of record-keeping and communication. Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. You understand that you have the right to access and correct your personal information held by Platinum Repairs.
