In Norway “Siri” mean beautiful victory. Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Gwyneth Paltrow both have children named Apple however this trend seems to be gaining momentum around the world.

In 2012, there was a noticeable increase in newborns being named Mac, Apple or Siri, according to the data recorded by BabyCentre.com.  No Windows or Android inspired names were reported.

It would be interesting to see what the baby name stats are in South Africa. We are already used to Precious, Wednesday, Gift and Tomorrow – maybe Apple and Siri would fit right in?
